Troy with Aaron & Caitlin in 2007
Our story begins similar to many Australian family-owned businesses with Troy Barlow purchasing a truck as an owner-operator in 2003.
Troy was behind the wheel while Jane managed the books and balanced raising three young children at home. Like many family businesses, JATEC Transport was built on hard work, determination, and a willingness to do whatever it took to get the job done.
Over the years, JATEC Transport has grown from a small family operation into a trusted transport partner supporting customers across the supply chain. Today, JATEC Transport is proudly a second-generation family business, with Aaron and Caitlin continuing the legacy established by Troy and Jane. Together, they combine decades of industry experience with a forward-thinking approach to innovation, technology, and customer service.
Family remains at the heart of everything we do. We understand the importance of balancing work and family life and strive to create a workplace culture where people feel valued, respected, and supported both on and off the road. Through initiatives such as our annual Family Day and regular team events, we celebrate the people who make JATEC Transport what it is.

Founder & Director
With decades of industry experience, Troy brings a wealth of knowledge and practical expertise to JATEC Transport.
Troy provides oversight across the business, ensuring JATEC remains true to the values it was built on. Through his hands-on leadership and long-standing customer relationships, Troy continues to guide the business while supporting the next generation of leadership.
Caitlin Barlow
General Manager
Caitlin combines practical transport and logistics experience with a Bachelor of Commerce (Entrepreneurship) from Macquarie University.
As General Manager, she leads JATEC's strategic growth, customer relationships, and innovation initiatives. Caitlin is also a Board Director of Transport Women Australia Limited, advocating for greater diversity and opportunities within the transport industry.
Kevin Hardy
Operations Manager
Kevin keeps the day-to-day running smoothly — managing driver rosters, coordinating daily allocations, and ensuring full compliance with Chain of Responsibility, HVNL, and fatigue laws. He holds the operation to a high standard, and maintains the KPIs to prove it.
Aaron Barlow
Fleet Manager
A qualified diesel mechanic, Aaron ensures JATEC's fleet stays road-ready at all times.
He oversees all vehicle maintenance schedules, champions driver morale, and leads the introduction of new technologies across the business.

JATEC Transport operates a modern fleet of prime movers and trailers across NSW and QLD, purpose-built to support the evolving needs of our customers.
Our custom-built B-Double trailers enable us to move significantly higher pallet volumes in a single trip, improving efficiency and reducing costs for customers. Meanwhile, our tautliner fleet provides additional flexibility for the transport of plastic pallets, bins, IBCs, and other equipment, using curtain-sided restraint systems that help minimise the risk of damage that can occur with traditional strapping methods during transit.
To complement our fleet, JATEC has invested heavily in technology to create a modern, efficient, and transparent operation. Our digital workflows, telematics platform, and sign-on-glass proof of delivery system provide real-time visibility across every job, allowing customers to receive delivery confirmations and proof of delivery as soon as a job is completed.
